This year, we've said goodbye to two great icons.

The first was Michael Jackson.
Well, eventhough everyone said he's a little...eccentric and stuff, nobody can deny he was great at his prime.

And his prime was during my childhood.

May he rest in peace despite the recent controversy over his death regarding the drugs given to him.

The next was Yasmin Ahmad.
She was one of Malaysia's greatest icons, producing touching advertisements and movies alike.
When I was young, I used to look forward to her commercials during the festive seasons. Her commercials were so thought provoking and touching that it really was a treat to watch it.

Of course I must admit I have not watched the past 1-2 years due to the fact Astro rarely screens it and I must add that I greatly regret that. At least I can still watch it on youtube.

But it looks like right now that may not be possible in the future...

May she rest in peace too....

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!

It all started when I stupidly left my wallet in the library by accident. After lectures, Li Zhen, Aku and I were supposed to meet up with B-comfort over the orientation T-shirts.

It was handed over to the admin department but when I got it back I lost 100 dollars with it =(
THEN, we had to get stuck in a ridiculously long jam on the way home for about and hour plus; reaching IMU at about 7++, nearly 8.

THEN, the ticket thing in the basement said I didn't pay when I paid 9 FREAKING DOLLARS.

Then the guards were trying to decide if I was lying or not and I waited till 8pm for them to come to a conclusion that I wasn't trying to trick IMU of its overpriced 9 dollars.

So many things to complain, but it sounds so unfair that I'm here complaining when other people might have it worse =(

So if you've just had a worse day than me I'm sorry I'm complaining.

Just need to let loose some steam right now ><

Going to be a crazy week for me. Haha.

Rushed to IMU today for my PBL @_@
Worst part was that the printer was...i dunno. Ask the two girls in front of me crowding the printer while I was already late for PBL. Ended up being mute throughout the whole thing.

Lectures started late as the Orientation committee were recording footage for the whole thing. And as I ran down to pay my parking, it was already 2 minutes over the hour!! GAH. Had to pay an extra dollar since I was too lazy to walk up already by then.

I have CSU tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed for a nice doctor T_T
Horrible tales have been told. Haha. Also, I need to hand in my report by tomorrow T_T

AAAAAnddd...I'm still lazy. haha. Still need to locate time to study too T_T

Sob. And its only CVS!!! What with the diff conditons of heart attacks and drugs. I'm amazed my brain can remember so much stuff.

Throughout my whole entire life, I have already said goodbye to a person.

And I've always hoped that it'd be the last goodbye I'd ever say.

She was always kind to me, always giving me an extra smile.
Encouraging me to talk in front of her when I was feeling shy.
Giving me presents knowing how few I used to get back then.

We weren't well off, but we were thriving.

Then, I had to say goodbye.
I was so young I didn't understand it back then. Now, I do.

I only wish that I could see you now, and show you how big I've grown up to be.
Show you how tall my brother is right now despite the age gap.

To show you that I can speak measly hokkien.

To tell you that the reason I stopped playing the piano is because I have no audience to listen to me play.

To tell you that it has always been my childhood dream to learn every main component of the musical instruments.
One string, one brass, one woodwind and one percussion.

Which means, I've always wanted to at least learn how to play, a violin, a trumpet, a flute and a harp.

And so far, I have yet to learn it nor express my wish to learn it to my family. How would they react? Would they think that I'm already taking things for granted? These instruments don't come cheap afterall.

To tell you that one of my other childhood dreams is to be athletic. It will never happen. My stamina is as bad as an obese sloth.

But I digress.

Don't really know what to say anymore. But...many things have changed back home.

Always take care of yourself.

HOWEVER, give a thought to my brother who will learn all the sciences in MALAY after being taught all of it in english since his primary school.

Friday was... ^^ Aha! Good news yo! I did it! The past one month was like hell for me... 2 weeks of waiting took its toll on my patience so sorry if I was a little jumpy, snappy and moody. I was stressed beyond reason at that time.

Of course, now a whole different kind of stress is setting in. Cardio is getting a little tricky for me. What with PBL's, CSU and clinical visits, i'm having a tough time. Added on with the T-shirts for orientation, its really taking up all of my time.

Now I have mosquito bites all over my feet, the worst place to get bitten T.T

So yea....I was thinking of changing my whole layout to a brighter colour. Black looks so emo-ish and gloomy. I was thinking sky blue! Going to finish up the banner when I actually have the time. Haha. It has rainbows and i'm personally photoshopping it all the way. Abstract too! =D

Sigh >< I need more ideas for the senior T-shirt. It looks too plain. And credit goes to Li Zhen and Li Hoong too. Good job guys! =D

But you see, I had a 10km run on Sunday and was planning to go after that.
BUT....I just had no more stamina after that =(

On Sunday, I went for my 10km run without any preparation whatsoever. No previous training which was oh so long ago.

It was hell.

I managed to jogged for the first....er....5 minutes? xD
Slowly after that, people started overtaking me. With very weird looks --"
Everytime I overtook people they would try and overtake me --"

Seriously people. Must you be SO kiasu even in a 10km race??? I would understand if you wanted to WIN the prize money but...

If you wanted to win, shouldn't you be in the front? Not at the back with me? --"

This is a race with yourself. NOT with other people. There were many times along the way when I wanted to just sit at the rest stations and tell them, ' I GIVE UP'.

But hey...what's the point in that huh?
There were SUPPOSED to be four water stations. There were only three.

JUST WHEN I WAS FREAKING THIRSTY....At the THIRD and LAST water station....

THEY FREAKING RAN OUT OF WATER --"

Try and rub it in that i'm last why don't you?

It was a great experience although I did feel a little lonely =(
Sure its a race against yourself but you can't help but feeling a little lonely along that 2hours 18minutes race. Everyone was chatting happily and enjoying myself.

I was just FORCING myself to go on ahead with nobody to push me.
I know that sometimes, you just need to be by yourself. You just need to be independent.

But i'm the kind of person who needs someone to push me. Haha. Not literally. Like, during exams, during a run... ><"

I'm a failure of a human. Ahaha.
But this run has taught me to push myself beyond my normal limits. Of course...the effects of that is beginning to show in the way I walk. =P

That being said, I guess I wouldn't mind going for another 10km one =)

WHEN someone I know will be with me all the way is there. Not necessarily physically.

The event will be held on both 27th-28th of June 2009 in the Sunway University Multi Purpose Hall.

There are loads of exciting events to be held!

For example, there will be a mini omatsuri! Er, mini japanese festival. Complete with cosplays and karaokes. There will also be an anime movie screening and live j-pop performances!

Admission fee is RM12 for both days, and RM 8 for 1 day. Cosplayers get to enter at only RM5!

Do you love singing in the shower? Haha. There will be a karaoke competition! So, blow your lungs out and sing to your heart's content.

While eating lunch today, I came across a documentary on channel 553 on the spanish influenza that raged the world as a pandemic. What was unique about this virus, as documented, was the fact that it killed millions of healthy people before coming to a stop because everyone infected was either dead or immune.

All because of one virus, millions of people died.

Now for a little scientific tidbit =)

Influenza viruses are scary because they can mutate to form more virulent and deadly strains.
Human viruses are just that, but the most dangerous ones are avian and swine flu. As it is...you know, more avian and swine, our body's immune system just can't mount such a huge immune response against it that fast; which makes it dangerous.

Now...usually avian or swine flu doesn't 'jump' hosts. You know, they usually stick to either birds, or pigs. BUT, should the flu be able to 'jump' to humans, then....

Well...you've seen it. Both the H1N1 and the recent swine flu are causing pandemics. Well, the H1N1 CAUSED a pandemic. The ironic part was what the documentary mentioned. The documentary must have been created after the H1N1 outbreak, but before the recent swine flu outbreak. Because at that time, they were slowly revealing the spanish influenza virus's identity, they mentioned that scientists should quickly identify it to prevent another H1N1 outbreak.

Heh. Bet those people must be squirming in their pants now. It came true! The Spanish influenza virus showed that it was a pure swine flu virus.

And Asia was the perfect spot for a deadly pandemic to start. Only in Asia do you get both chickens and pigs living in close proximity. Especially the 'kampung' areas. The pig serves as a 'mixing' vessel. It has the capability to mix both avian and human flu viruses, causing a new strain. Imagine....an avian, swine and human flu. A cocktail of doom.

I demand the time when I could still go out and play without fear of skin cancer, I wanna go out and play without having to be so paranoid and cautious all the time, I wanna go back to the time when I could just switch on the fan and speed 1 and still feel cool.

Life is full of challenges. What separates us from the rest is how we deal with these challenges. You either stand tall and continue climbing, or just stay down...defeated.

My head's telling me to stand tall and continue climbing. But my heart wants to just let it all go and travel around the world.

I've always wanted to travel around the world. I wish I could make a living out of it. NOT by being a tour guide, but free to go wherever and whenever I want.

*sigh*

Oh well, back to studying.

Throughout my whole time studying, there's always a time for a break ;)

Haha. So, i spend my time reading and watching One Piece! =D
Really nice. The underlying friendship theme is really nice. Touching at times and so funny =)

The arc that really touched me the most was when they had to save a princess's country. Also, the arc where they had to retrieve their kidnapped shipmate =')

Well....that being said I've nothing more to add. Haha. I really have no idea what to blog about during my free time nowadays. Oh well. You could say I have blogger's block? xD

My laptop is ALIIIIIIVE! =D
My poor baby was in ICU last month to get a heart transplant. The cause?

A fried motherboard. You know...laptop...motherboard? Yea...at least all the data is still here. *phew*

That's all I wanna say. This post is just to show that my laptop is up and alive and to stop ting yu from asking me to update.

P.S. Ting yu, go ask E Li to update. Not me.
