Eh heh....

I'm here to say, sorry Yee Wen! I didn't go for your event with very good reasons.

><

I planned to go on Sunday actually. So, I didn't go on Saturday. Also, sorry to Tsing and Sean. I missed your performance =(

But you see, I had a 10km run on Sunday and was planning to go after that.
BUT....I just had no more stamina after that =(

SRYSRYSRYSRYSRYSRYSRYSRY! =(

Please don't kill me T.T

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
On Sunday, I went for my 10km run without any preparation whatsoever. No previous training which was oh so long ago.

It was hell.

I managed to jogged for the first....er....5 minutes? xD
Slowly after that, people started overtaking me. With very weird looks --"
Everytime I overtook people they would try and overtake me --"

Seriously people. Must you be SO kiasu even in a 10km race??? I would understand if you wanted to WIN the prize money but...

If you wanted to win, shouldn't you be in the front? Not at the back with me? --"

This is a race with yourself. NOT with other people. There were many times along the way when I wanted to just sit at the rest stations and tell them, ' I GIVE UP'.

But hey...what's the point in that huh?
There were SUPPOSED to be four water stations. There were only three.

JUST WHEN I WAS FREAKING THIRSTY....At the THIRD and LAST water station....

THEY FREAKING RAN OUT OF WATER --"

Try and rub it in that i'm last why don't you?

It was a great experience although I did feel a little lonely =(
Sure its a race against yourself but you can't help but feeling a little lonely along that 2hours 18minutes race. Everyone was chatting happily and enjoying myself.

I was just FORCING myself to go on ahead with nobody to push me.
I know that sometimes, you just need to be by yourself. You just need to be independent.

But i'm the kind of person who needs someone to push me. Haha. Not literally. Like, during exams, during a run... ><"

I'm a failure of a human. Ahaha.
But this run has taught me to push myself beyond my normal limits. Of course...the effects of that is beginning to show in the way I walk. =P

That being said, I guess I wouldn't mind going for another 10km one =)

WHEN someone I know will be with me all the way is there. Not necessarily physically.

Gah, rambling again. Gotta go grab some breakfast and head over for classes T.T

Influenza?

While eating lunch today, I came across a documentary on channel 553 on the spanish influenza that raged the world as a pandemic. What was unique about this virus, as documented, was the fact that it killed millions of healthy people before coming to a stop because everyone infected was either dead or immune.

All because of one virus, millions of people died.

Now for a little scientific tidbit =)

Influenza viruses are scary because they can mutate to form more virulent and deadly strains.
Human viruses are just that, but the most dangerous ones are avian and swine flu. As it is...you know, more avian and swine, our body's immune system just can't mount such a huge immune response against it that fast; which makes it dangerous.

Now...usually avian or swine flu doesn't 'jump' hosts. You know, they usually stick to either birds, or pigs. BUT, should the flu be able to 'jump' to humans, then....

Well...you've seen it. Both the H1N1 and the recent swine flu are causing pandemics. Well, the H1N1 CAUSED a pandemic. The ironic part was what the documentary mentioned. The documentary must have been created after the H1N1 outbreak, but before the recent swine flu outbreak. Because at that time, they were slowly revealing the spanish influenza virus's identity, they mentioned that scientists should quickly identify it to prevent another H1N1 outbreak.

Heh. Bet those people must be squirming in their pants now. It came true! The Spanish influenza virus showed that it was a pure swine flu virus.

And Asia was the perfect spot for a deadly pandemic to start. Only in Asia do you get both chickens and pigs living in close proximity. Especially the 'kampung' areas. The pig serves as a 'mixing' vessel. It has the capability to mix both avian and human flu viruses, causing a new strain. Imagine....an avian, swine and human flu. A cocktail of doom.

Ironic? =\

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Gah, that being said, it sounds kinda depressing for Mother Nature now.
What with the recent El NiƱo, haze, global warming, decreasing areas for dumping rubbish, lack of water and recession....

><

The future generation always suffer huh? I demand the time when I could still go out and play without fear of skin cancer, I wanna go out and play without having to be so paranoid and cautious all the time, I wanna go back to the time when I could just switch on the fan and speed 1 and still feel cool.

Life is full of challenges. What separates us from the rest is how we deal with these challenges. You either stand tall and continue climbing, or just stay down...defeated.

My head's telling me to stand tall and continue climbing. But my heart wants to just let it all go and travel around the world.

I've always wanted to travel around the world. I wish I could make a living out of it. NOT by being a tour guide, but free to go wherever and whenever I want.

*sigh*

Oh well, back to studying.
I really love Amazing Grace and Ave Maria btw. Its so soothing and calming =)

16.6.2009

One Piece

Throughout my whole time studying, there's always a time for a break ;)

Haha. So, i spend my time reading and watching One Piece! =D
Really nice. The underlying friendship theme is really nice. Touching at times and so funny =)

The arc that really touched me the most was when they had to save a princess's country. Also, the arc where they had to retrieve their kidnapped shipmate =')

Well....that being said I've nothing more to add. Haha. I really have no idea what to blog about during my free time nowadays. Oh well. You could say I have blogger's block? xD

9th June 2009

edit: Just changed the song =D This song is nice.... Was influenced by my bro. =P

My laptop is ALIIIIIIVE! =D
My poor baby was in ICU last month to get a heart transplant. The cause?

A fried motherboard. You know...laptop...motherboard? Yea...at least all the data is still here. *phew*

That's all I wanna say. This post is just to show that my laptop is up and alive and to stop ting yu from asking me to update.

P.S. Ting yu, go ask E Li to update. Not me.

=)

=D

Kindly ignore the previous post. Too emo and...too self destructive. I'll remove it when my internet is faster.

Anyway...I sneaked online just to say...Thanks for all the support guys =)

Right...gotta study now then ><

I would like to also thank E Li for purposely coming all the way to IMU to study with me. Without her, I'd have just emo-ed the whole day =P Finally changed my song! Its a nice song too!

Enjoy =)

I was too naive...

Thinking back, I was a big idiot then. What the heck was I thinking?

Here's another hurdle I must now overcome....

I look so weak...so vunerable...any soothing words or piercing words can now hurt me. I don't care about physical pain but emotional and mental pain is way worse.

But too late to think about that now. Its time...to look ahead and at the huge crossroad in front of me. Its the turning point of my life.

I'm so afraid...so afraid that I wish I could just break down and cry; cry my heart and lungs out.

But that would be so not me.

Its time to be strong...time to stand up on my own two feet and stop depending on people so much. Its time to stop dwelling in the past and gear myself up for this challenge. Its time to give myself a big tight slap and a pinch to clear the haze and to open my eyes wide.

Its time...to sit down and carefully evaluate.
This time, nobody can save me but....me.

Books....books...BOOKS! =D

Time for a late post xD
This one happened on Sunday btw.

My mum, bro and I went to the Big Bad Wolf Book Warehouse Sale! =D
Damn syiok lo! Haha. I managed to buy a few old nice looking books and a few current books. For example...

I bought an Inkdeath book for 15 bucks! HAHA! *must rub it in Yee Wen's face*
But for 15 bucks there must be a downside rite....

The cover was the movie version and it was a 3 in 1 kinda book. Oh well. My mum said it was only 15 bucks. The story is funnier...

I was browsing thru a whole heap of books and this girl was holding on it. I was already eying so I just pretended to browse somemore. I overheard the conversation between her and her mum.

M: "Aren't you going to buy this book?"
G: But I already have the first 2 books...
M: The choice is yours

To my glee, she decided not to buy and like a shark, I grabbed it! *Rejoices*
And it was the last book too! D= According to my mum, a lot of people were trying to take the book too...We left it in a box which was provided and my mum was looking after it while my bro and I were like little kids in a candy store xD Sorry Tsing, I was trying to look for one for you too =\ And I found some house book. Dunno if Yee Wen wants it. Do you? The cover is bent though. It was the best copy I could find. Tell me if you want it k? =)

Managed to buy a few Asterix books too! Pretty cheap. 12 bucks for 1, and you'd normally buy it for 70 bucks in MPH! Haha! Again, the cover and pages were in a pretty ok-ok state. A few bents here and there but hey, beggars can't be choosers right?

Of course, there were also plenty of sudoku books! Ah...I was in heaven that day....

Mum was looking for the Da Vinci code but couldn't find it. Maybe i'll buy it for her birthday or something...

In the end, we managed to amass an impresive collection of books, me having the most of course. *evil grin*
Then when we were done, we had to sort out which one we didn't want. Of course...I felt bad for buying so many so I had to remove a few =(
What really irked me was that some volumes, trilogies, chornicles or whatever were incomplete so I had to leave that behind because the books were kinda old and I doubt I could find it in other bookstores anymore anyway T.T

We spent about...4-5 hours there. Haha. The amount was 300 bucks for a whole lot of books with a 10% discount for OCBC members. OCBC is awesome like that xD Mum even joked and asked us to buy another 2-3 more books.

We ended our hot day with a nice, COLD and refreshing ice-cream! I bought the orange lolly. You know, the ones we used to buy when we were young. The orange ice one. Brings back memories...=)

When we reached home, all my books fitted into one box, my mum's was about 3/4 of a box and my bro...just bought 5. Haha. There were a few books where he and I wanted it so okla...he had about 10 KUA xD

So...ends my book sale experience. Can you please drop me a word of any upcoming warehouse book sale? I managed to find one so far. Its on from the 15th till the 24th.

Does anyone know where this place is?

Dewan Serbaguna MBPJ,
Jalan BU 3/1,
Bandar Utama,
Petaling Jaya, Selangor

Its the location. Open from 10am till 9pm

If you can't see the poster, go to this website

Crescent's warehouse sale

Please tell me if you know the way ya? Thanks! =)

On the awesomeness of pokoks and flipping

Met up with Lai Mun, Tsing, Steph, Yan Leng and Yee Wen for dinner at IOI in TGI's today.

And we learned a few new words today, courtesy of Steph and Yee Wen.

1. Awesome
2. Pokok
3. Flipping

See the awesomeness of the word awesome? You can use it to describe so many things with that one word?

"How was your day?" Awesome.
"How is the food? " Awesome.
"You having fun?" I'm having the most awesome day

Or something along those lines.
Haha. POKOK on the other hand....can be used as a bad word. What started as an 'innocent' conversation in Popular ended up with this.

YW: What the fish?
Tsing: Eh dun la. It sounds too much like F.
Yw:....K la. What the salmon?
Everyone: --"
Yw: What the giraffe?
Everyone: --"
Yw: Fine! No more animals. I'll use trees.
Tsing: So now u're gonna say what the tree?
Yw: No...What the pokok!

And that's when we started insulting each other using the word pokok.

Grammar 101 on the word pokok! Just replace it with any bad word you know.

Wtf can be said as what the pokok. See? Not as vulgar.
Wth too can be substituted.
Bloody (name) can be said was Pokok (name). Doesn't sound too right... But!
Freaking (name) CAN be said as Pokoking (name)

Example....lets give you a sample situation which happened to me when I was trying to call A CERTAIN SOMEONE. *cough* Steph and Tsing *cough*

Pl: *hp trying to get thru*
(Tsing SLAMS MY PHONE! D=)
Pl to Yw: That pokok-ing Tsing slam my call!!!!
Yw: *LOLS in the background*

And before we left,
Yw: Good bye pokoks!
Steph: Shut up. I'm too awesome to be a pokok you pokok.

Pl + Yw : Bye pokoks!! =D

Ahahahahahaha. So now you know you can insult ppl as pokoks and use the word awesome all the time! =D HOW COOL IS THAT!

May this post be of use to u. xD Before I leave, I would like to show you a pokok-ing picture.

TGI Friday's dessert. Looks kinda small.

Sorry. Lai Mun, Yan Leng and Yee Wen too shy. I had to persuade Tsing and Steph before they posed.

ahahahaha. The toilet sign. Note the finger? xD

Simple minds are easily amused. If you see properly....

There are no walls on both side! Its just a door in the middle of nowhere. xD

Hope you enjoyed this educational post.

><

Oh gosh... SAQ was baaaaaaad. Left two whole questions empty. Pharmaco really killed me then.

I've also figured out something...
Eventhough I studied it, I can't apply it. For example:

"What's the difference between adult haemoglobin and fetal haemoglobin?"
The chains that comprise it. Fetal is alpha gamma I think, while adult is alpha beta. But during my exams....it never crossed my mind.

So yea...the resit is harder than the original exam... Trying to sound optimistic now but I also have to be realistic. This means...

Studying right after my exams are over, in order to prepare myself for the resit.

And since the resit it tougher, failing it means bye bye med school.

Should I consider what other options can I lead my life now?

Obstacles

What if I fail?

How do I face my parents?

How do I face...

Everyone?

There's no such thing as a life without obstacles. As Wen Peng typed in his status, What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

My next obstacle just might be the death of me yet.

No time to think, just time to give it my all while dealing with my noisy surroundings. Stress is already affecting me badly as it is.

I might end up looking like crap on Monday.

Added on with the uncertainty of my future now, the stress is really beginning to pile up.

My friends always say...

" Don't worry, you're smart! You can pull through!"
" Don't worry....just try your best!"
" Haiya, don't lie! You're so good, you can do it!"
" You can do it! Just believe in yourself and you can do it!"

Don't make me laugh...

Truth is...you guys put too much confidence in me.

I'm not smart; merely average.
Not only that, I'm lazy.

My brain has never studied hard since PMR, which contributes to my bad grades since then.
I will never put in enough effort without encouragement; which unfortunately for me, has left me since form 4.

My encouragement was to be the best then. To be the best. I was THAT arrogant. Then...that reason just left me altogether when we were separated.

From then on, I never worked hard to achieve anything. I was just too lazy to think.
What's the point of a brain if I don't use it?

Now, my brain needs a lot more to jump start. Right now...its too late.
It'll never happen anymore. I won't be able to see it.

I feel so lost. For the first time in my life... I feel like i'm looking at a huge crossroad. I walked down a path few would have traveled...

And regretted it. I regret my decision and its too late to pull out now. Out of sheer arrogance...I'm beginning to fall...

And i'm going to keep falling until I land...hard... Smack right into reality.

What should I do then?

I need a savior to pull me out from this hell pit i've dug around myself now. I feel so...

Hopeless.

Haha!

Was going through all our old photos yesterday; my bro was doing his sejarah folio. You know...the one where we needed to do about our family in form 1? HAHA!
Funny part was, he doesn't know WHAT to write about. And I kept reminding him,

Me : " You know...if it wasn't for the fact you took apart my folio last time, it could help you now..."
Bro : "WHAT WAS I THINKING? CURSE YOU ITCHY HANDS!!!"

Haha. Joker la that fella. And we were laughing so much at our own pictures! xD
I just can't believe how horrible I looked as I grew older >_>

I kinda miss the old cameras with the old fashion film. My mum once said that, at least you have the pictures with you once you washed it and can rewash it over and over again. But with digital cameras, once the data is deleted, Poof! Your pictures are gone. Oh yea =( So many pictures have fallen prey to the viruses which have infected my computer =(

So...to entertain your minds off of studying, (or permanently fry it due to the....graphical pictures you're about to see...) allow me to bring you down memory lane and see me! =D
I sound like a narcissist...

That's me when I was a year old. Well...you can see the date. I have another one which shows me KISSING the floor. Haha! Didn't scan it though.

Why am I embarassing myself again?

This is the lake garden place =) I soooo wanna go back there after my exams...maybe i'll persuade my parents....*evil plan already forming*

I can barely remember this picture though. I THINK I remember these people in the pictures. I also THINK I've visited them few years back. Thing is, as kids, we tend to make more friends. But now, as the oh so reserved and dignified teens that we are, it'd be uncool to make friends that easily huh? =P
No, I don't know the guy next to me now.

Last pic before I go off. This isn't me. Its my bro. Haha! He's sooo adorable!...
Of course, once you've compared it with THIS picture...

Eeeeewwww.....Of course, I heard there are a lot of girls going after him.....

Hmmmm....isit time to be that 'overprotective sister' and interview all the girls first? Not just any other girl wei... Obviously not from his school since he's from St. John's...

O.o.....

Unless....

... ...
... ...
... ...

NAH. Couldn't be. =P

xD Mean I am....

Happy Birthday Ca Men! =D

Happy birthday Ca Men!
Albeit belated... Sowie >< I was busy studying the whole day yesterday. Below are pictures for everyone's amusement xD

'Watcha looking at huh?'
Gosh...this pic felt like so long ago didn't it?

So 'kan lek' ho?
'Em ho la. Mou ah!!'

Ok that sound wrong... xD

Now for a good nice pic of her.
Haha. Sorry if my smile looks so 'kaku'.

Happy belated birthday ya? Hope you had a good day! =)

2.5.09

I'm sorry but I just gotta blog

I forgot to post Sarah's birthday post >< So...i'll just post a quick one. She'll be too tired to know anyway. *hint* She works till 11pm xD.

Aaaanyway, this girl is one who gives a first impression of being the gangster...the bad girl...the girl with the 'I wanna kill somebody' look.

Until you know her... As much as she ALWAYS claims to be a good girl...*hi 5's Dianne*
I guess sometimes you just really gotta know the person before you judge the person huh?

Dianne and Sarah

I dunno why I have so many pictures with only the both of you >_>

Heeee~ This pic is for Dianne =P

Happy belated birthday! Your birthday passed yesterday with you working xD

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
The next bit is just so hilarious it HAS to be up.
I know its mean but I just can't help it.

See...I was studying...*shudder*
And I got so sick of it that I went downstairs to watch some TV.
And I was watching.....Spongebob >_>

THEN....My grandfather asked me to fetch him to a nearby clinic and asked me to change and take my IC and stuff.

After changing and stuff, he told me he has constipation and its very...er... what's 'san fu' in english anyway...
Er...not feeling well? I think?

So I fetched him and the doctor prescribed some medicine after he explained that he was constipated since this morning.

When we went home, he took the medicine. Which I found out...
is just good ol' nutritious vitamin C.

Yup fellow IMU and Monash students. My grandfather was given a placebo.
Kinda hilarious really. Because, I think he went to the toilet after eating it. Its all the mind huh.

When I was making my lunch = instant soup + biscuits,
my maid told me he has been eating a lot of asam.
Like...ENAM biji of it.

My maid also told me that he buys TWENTY apples in one day.
And finishes it in TWO days.

--"

OF COURSE LA!
Then my grandma happily added on. For breakfast, he drinks coffee and eats a few pieces of bread. Like...a lot of it >_> Half a loaf? --"

Note: Excess carbs gives u GI irritation.
I REMEMBERED WHAT I READ!! =D

Then, before lunch he eats apples, papayas and bananas. We grow papayas and its the fruiting time for all my papaya trees now. He ALWAYS buys bananas.
Besides bananas, he also eats oranges.

Then lunch time. My grandma usually serves rice, with leftovers. If there aren't any she'll just whip up a vege dish and a meat dish.

After that, PLUS soup, he'll rest for a while.
Not before eating more oranges >_> Its a habit of his since I was young.

TEA TIME. He makes a cup of Milo and more bread.

In between that and dinner he eats more....apples I think. I don't really go down to observe anymore.

Then dinner. After dinner, its more fruits. Last night, with a slice of mango.

Oh gosh. Do all guys eat that much? I feel full just thinking and typing about it.

My grandma and maid are mean. I know.
Haha!

On a totally random note, I just fed Rocky and Almond cheese!!

Mmm....cheese....

Time to move on....

As Yee Wen said in my cbox, No point dwelling in the past. Time to pull it together and get a move on. Its the present and future that counts. The past is but a memory, something that we are built upon, something that must be taken into account and learned from.
But the most important thing is to remember our mistakes in the past so that we will never repeat it again.

I've learned a valuable lesson this time round and will just move on. These few days has given me a lot of time to think upon and reflect. As a 'wise' friend once said to me, you will always wish you could live in the past. Back when everything was so easygoing and all fun and games...
But there will always be a time when you need to leave everything behind and just move on with your life.

Going to different places....meeting different people...learning different stuff. Look how much we've separated by now? When I was in lower primary, I used to hang with Carol. In standard 5, that didn't happen because everyone else was in standard 4 when I skipped std 4. They met different friends and I met different people. I met Carr Men. Then in std 6, I met Xiao Foong.

In lower secondary, I met Dianne, Sarah, Steph and a few others.
After PMR
Larian Saujana

Before Dianne's departure
In upper secondary, I met Yee Wen, Lai Mun, Tsing, Mel, Yan Leng and many more.
Most recent
Just the smaller gang

Before Mel's departure

In Taylor's I met the whole of PM4.
Back then
Pizza Hut

Prom nite

And now in IMU, I'll meet with a whole different set of people.
PBL mates

Li Hoong's birthday

Orientation juniors

But in the process, I've lost many other friends. I barely speak to Carr Men. Its been ages since I last met Carol face to face. Dianne and Pui Man are virtually out of reach without technology.

And that's gonna just become worse.
Soon, everyone will start leaving me one at a time. Next will be Yee Wen. Then Sarah. Then more of those who are going overseas.
Then all my friends in IMU will leave for separate universities.

Life's tough huh?

But we need to move on.

And so...with these memories that I've imprinted on this last post, I shall now seal all these memories, happy and sad alike, deep in my heart and memory. No more brooding on the past.

Watch out world, here I come!

I burned myself ><

Its kinda embarrassing HOW and with WHAT did i burn myself.
HAHA.

The only person who knows about this is Sarah...And her mum...And Coco...and Tiger.
And Rachel, Sarah's sister.

At least it healed up already. ><

24th April 2009

This is the most recent pic of her. So...

Happy Birthday Stephieeeee! =D
Er...present hutang dulu. Haha!

17th April 2009

I feel so tired, heavy and sad all at the same time.
Waking up at 7am everyday, dragging myself off from bed every morning, driving alone to IMU everyday, going up to the library and study every day, hoping to hang out everyday but my hopes get dashed each day...

The list is endless.
You know...I just realized that if you're not happy, you won't feel full no matter how much you eat...you'll never feel light. You'll always feel down....sad.... and feel like you have the whole world's weight on your shoulder all the time.

You just feel like giving up, you just feel like ending everything with just one stupid mistake.
You feel like just going to sleep knowing that you have to rush everything in an unreasonable timing.
You feel like voicing out and crying in front of everybody.

But you know you will never be able to do that.
You will never be able to scream your feelings out, letting the other person know that you've been treated unjustly.
To know that all you wanna do is just enjoy each others company.

But what do you get?

Time after time, disappointment wells up deep down.
Time after time, tears that threaten to fall are held back.
Time after time...

I wonder, would I be treated differently if I were a total different person?
Would I then, be treated the same as you've treated that particular person?
Would I....

Be finally given a nod at, given some consideration, not abandoned, always in your company?
Would I finally...

Get to spend time with you?

Only done with immunology and haflway through pathology.
And since I couldn't understand what the crap the lecturers are trying to tell me in pathology, I've decided to just go straight to microbiology and parasitology.

@_@
BUT IMMUNOLOGY WAS THE EASY PART!

*sigh* Studied in the library more or less since 2 plus till approx 4 plus before moving to the other section of the library to study some more until about 5pm. Then I printed notes till 5.30pm.
